General Assessment Information
At O'Donnell Psychology, we bring many years of experience in conducting comprehensive assessments for young people and their families. Our team is committed to evidence-based practices in all assessments, ensuring that our methods are scientifically grounded and reliable. We also prioritize continuing professional development, staying up to date with the latest research and training in psychological assessment to provide the most accurate and effective evaluations.
Our approach is centered on providing clear outcomes and recommendations that are not only appropriate but also manageable within each unique family context. We can also offer ongoing support implementing recommendations or finding appropriate services to meet specific needs, should this be required.
The assessment process typically involves multiple appointments and requires the collection of information from a variety of sources. This includes direct input from the young person, as well as from parents or guardians, teachers, and other professionals involved in the individual's care. We utilize a range of assessment tools, such as clinical interviews, standardized tests, and questionnaires, to gather a holistic understanding of the individual’s needs.
While most assessment services do not attract a rebate from third-party providers such as the NDIS or Medicare, some rebates may be available for specific assessments like those for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
